Social Compliance & Sustainability

At Shaga, responsible production is not a marketing angle — it is built into how we operate. As a production-focused company, we believe quality is inseparable from accountability. The integrity of our supply chain matters just as much as the consistency of our garments. That’s why we prioritize structured compliance programs and sustainable practices across every level of our operations.

We partner exclusively with factories that meet globally recognized standards for ethical manufacturing, worker welfare, and environmental responsibility. Our manufacturing partners maintain certifications such as WRAP, SEDEX, SLCP, and OEKO-TEX, ensuring that both social compliance and product safety are independently verified.

WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certification ensures facilities operate in compliance with international labor standards, ethical workplace practices, and health and safety requirements. It focuses on lawful employment, safe working conditions, and responsible management systems.

SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) is a global platform that promotes transparency in supply chains. It allows independent audits of labor practices, health and safety standards, environmental impact, and business ethics.

SLCP (Social & Labor Convergence Program) provides a standardized framework for evaluating social and labor conditions across factories. It reduces audit fatigue while maintaining consistent compliance benchmarks.

OEKO-TEX® certification verifies that textiles are tested for harmful substances and meet strict safety standards, ensuring that finished garments are safe for end users.

BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) certification supports more sustainable cotton production through responsible farming practices and improved environmental stewardship. It focuses on reducing water usage, minimizing chemical inputs, promoting soil health, and strengthening working conditions for cotton farmers.

Higg Index is a standardized sustainability assessment framework developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition to measure environmental and social impact across the supply chain. It evaluates areas such as resource usage, emissions, waste management, labor conditions, and management systems to promote transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within manufacturing facilities.

By working only with certified partners, we build reliability into the supply chain itself. This infrastructure allows us to deliver garments that are not only consistent in fit and finish, but responsibly produced at scale. For us, sustainability and compliance are not optional add-ons — they are foundational to how Shaga operates.
